Wireless Technology

Commercial cellular services require DAS designs to include the bands normally referred to as cellular, PCS, 700 LTE, and AWS. Some 800 MHz ‘trunking band’ and Wi-Max spectrum is also used for cellular data services. All of these bands are part of our Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) designs. Depending on the services desired, the DAS will be designed to carry all of the above bands, or may be limited to provide a selection of those bands for a more cost-effective solution. The bands used are also dependent on the particular geographic area.

constellationTechnologies supported by our DAS designs are all of the current technologies in service for 2G, 3G and 4G systems: EDGE, CDMA of all revisions, UMTS, and LTE, plus all Public Safety technologies (see below). SinceĀ  the DAS technologies are inherently broadband, our designs will be be ready to use into the future. The front end source devices (repeaters or Base Stations) can be upgraded or changed out as desired to change technologies and add bands.

Future growth, cost versus value, and new technology compatibility should always be a part of any DAS design. We strive to help our customers understand the issues surrounding upgrades paths in their systems, and help them to make decisions that best matches expense with their budgets and needs. Even if certain services are not initially implemented, we want to provide as much future growth as possible. Part of the design and business analysis for any DAS is to look at the regional trends, the present and probable future service needs, and select a solution that will have a cost effective growth path. Some marketed In building DAS products offer initial lower cost for limited bands and services but end up being more costly when the long term growth path is computed; we will help you to avoid a DAS solution that is initially low cost, but ultimately of low value.
